Rainbow Themed Hens Party Hannah - The Girlfriend Edit Melanie Jane Weddings and Events

Recently, Mel from MJWED had the pleasure of e-meeting Hannah and getting the down low on her incredible Hen’s Party Celebrations!

Hannah and her crew of 18 girls certainly know what it takes to have an incredible and memorable time, so much so that we knew our MJWED readers would swoon just as much as we did over all the juicy deets.

So, let’s get to it then!

The Girlfriend Edit Interview with Bride-To-Be Hannah

M: So, Hannah, tell us about your Hen’s Party! Who did all of the planning?

H: My amazing Maid of Honour and best friend Caitlin (kudos to you Caitlin) planned the entire event! I have no clue what the budget was, but she planned the weekend with everything as an ‘opt-in’, so people could come for some or all of the weekend and do what they could afford/wanted to do!

M: Awesome, I love this idea as so many fights can get started on how much is being spent on the Hen’s Day and this way of organising things is such an awesome idea with helping people budget and plan for the day!

M: Your theme was fantastic! I am so in love with all of it (big hearts)!

H: I’m a cancer bride (unfortunately I don’t mean the star sign) so my incredible maid of honour came up with the idea of having a wig party!

To make it a fun vibe, everyone came head to toe in a colour of their choice and then I was the rainbow.

We had some serious commitment to the theme with long gloves, toenails painted, matching bags and earrings, the lot! 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️

M: That is sooo cool! I can’t believe how everyone committed to their costume 100%. You guys all looked so incredible, and I absolutely adore that you were the rainbow. You were simply GORG!

M: Girl! You seriously have got style and class! I can’t take my eyes off the stunning dress you chose to wear for the day, who was the dressmaker/designer?

H: I bought the most incredible Alex Perry dress about 2.5 years ago for my original hens and it suited the theme perfectly. I had a freakout about 3 weeks before and bought a white dress because I was worried about not looking like a traditional ‘bride’ at my hen do.

But my advice to anyone else is just to go for it!

My dress was amazing, the theme was amazing, and my crew was just unbelievable! I did my rainbow makeup myself, and I wore a fab Jon Renau wig (in the style drive, colour pastel blonde) and I just added these super cheap rainbow extensions from Shein. My shoes were also so fun and were from Steve Madden at the DFO in Homebush.

M: Best decision EVER! Everything looked so amazing – my inner Katy Perry goddess is jelly of you!

So, tell us, where did you and all your gal pals stay for the festivities?

H: It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!

We stayed in a beautiful Airbnb house in Queens Park in Sydney which had a fantastic indoor and outdoor space, perfect for our festivities!

We had so much fun playing hens games; ‘Pin the kiss on the groom’, ‘He said or she said’, ‘How well do you know the bride’, etc as well as having a craft station set-up where each of us got to ‘bedazzle’ our own set of heart sunnies, which I absolutely LOVED!

My gal pals decorated the house with an amazing rainbow curtain, and they put rainbow signs all around the house that they made in canva.

The house is on Airbnb (check it out here) and I would absolutely recommend it. The place was seriously luxe!

M: You aren’t kidding! This place looks like a DREAM! What a fantastic way to spend some time away with the girls celebrating!

What else did your BRIDE TRIBE have in store for you?

H: We did a Drag and Dine in Erskineville and it was just so incredible.

I’m immunocompromised so we couldn’t stay long after dinner, but we danced the night away at our amazing Airbnb and it was just so fun.

It was such a perfect weekend, most of the girls live in Sydney so on Friday night they did a welcome party for me with pizza, wine, and a game where my fiancé recorded answers to a ‘bride or groom’ (like who made the first move, who’s the better cook etc) game which was just so funny to watch his answers, and it was just overall perfect.

M: Oh wow! That actually sounds so incredibly sweet, and what a fantastic idea for future Hens! The Drag and Dine in Erskineville looks so amaze-balls, we LOVE our QUEENS!

If you could have a do-over, what would you change?

H: Absolutely nothing! It was INCREDIBLE!! My friends are amazing!! Massive effort from everyone! I feel so lucky!

M: I don’t blame you, maybe just a repeat of the same hahaha!

So, not long now then and you’ll be tying the knot, what part of your wedding day are you looking forward to the most?

H: Obviously, I’m most looking forward to seeing my partner’s face when I’m walking down the aisle, but all of my Hens are going to bring our hens glasses that we decorated together, to the wedding and we’re going to have a big girl’s photo with the professional photographer at the wedding which will be so fun!

M: OMGeeee! That sounds hella fun, you girls are also fab and we can’t wait to see the end result!

THE END.
