Here at Melanie Jane Weddings and Events, we’re all about turning ideas into unforgettable experiences, so when Sony Pictures Releasing and iKapture Promotions and Marketing asked us to style the floral installation for the premiere of It Ends With Us at Event Cinema Westfield Garden City, we couldn’t say YES fast enough! We dove headfirst into the challenge of creating something that was more than just a pretty backdrop—we wanted the flowers to tell a story.

Inspired by Colleen Hoover’s emotional rollercoaster of a novel, we knew this wasn’t going to be your average floral display. We needed bold, vibrant blooms that screamed passion, resilience, and transformation—just like the characters in the movie. Cue the dramatic mix of red roses, yellow chrysanthemums, and purple carnations! Our showstopper? Two huge, jaw-dropping urns overflowing with colour and life, symbolising all the love, hope, and mystery of the story. But we didn’t stop there.

To add a little extra oomph, with the help of The Prop House, we styled the space with vintage luggage trunks and birdcages, giving off some serious nostalgic, adventure vibes. It was a nod to the characters’ emotional journeys, all tied together with soft petals scattered on the floor, creating a whimsical path that led guests straight into the heart of the It Ends With Us world. Put all of the above in front of a screen print of “Lily’s Blooms” by Showtime Entertainment, and it was a match made in heaven!

Creating this floral wonderland was an absolute blast! We simply had to make sure everything hit the right note—whether it was the striking colour palette, the vintage props, or the dramatic lighting. The goal was simple: make everyone feel like they were stepping into the movie itself.

And judging by the smiles and selfies, we nailed it!

This project wasn’t just about beautiful flowers (although they were pretty epic); it was about using our passion for design to enhance the storytelling. We wanted every person at the premiere to feel like they were part of the story—the heartbreak, the hope, and the love.

We honestly had so much fun bringing this floral dream to life, and we’re still buzzing from the energy of the night!
