Here at Melanie Jane Weddings & Events, we believe that every premiere should be as memorable and distinctive as the film it celebrates. So, when Sony Pictures approached us to provide a concept design for and to style the premiere of “The Garfield Movie,” we decided to ‘paint the town Orange’ to capture the fun and the spirit of everyone’s favourite lasagne-loving cat.

From bright oranges to quirky details, here’s how we created a premiere that embodies the lovable essence of Garfield.

From the start, our colour palette was clear and needed to feature vivid oranges and blacks that paid homage to Garfield’s iconic fur. This was complemented by the industrial style and polished concrete floors of Reading Cinema Newmarket, balancing the vibrant orange all around.

A grand entry arch of orange and black balloons greeted guests on arrival, which had both kids and their parents stopping and pointing in awe!

With a luxe white jumping castle inside by Chaos & Petals, and orange fairy floss from LB Sweets (aka “Garfield Fuzz”) stacked high on our lolly cart, Garfield’s mischievous side was well and truly evoked for both adults and kids!

And lastly, nothing makes a premiere like a red-carpet photo opportunity, and what better way to celebrate all things Garfield than with an ORANGE carpet instead, provided by the team at Showtime Entertainment!

‘’The Garfield Movie” was a delightful blend of nostalgia and fun, reflecting Garfield’s love for food, comfort, and a bit of mischief.

With a thoughtful mix of bright orange decor, delicious food, and engaging activities, the premiere was a celebration that was as heartwarming and entertaining as the beloved cat himself!

P.S. This amazing luxe white jumping castle was the perfect place for a quick rest after the setup before everyone started arriving! Haha…
